Load data from a CSV file into SIGTAS

SIGTAS allows the administrator to load CSV files (spreadsheet-based computer files with values separated by commas). This function is used for compiling and transferring data such as TIN or account numbers, etc. For example, a CSV file may contain opening balance(s) data or the values used for assessments.

Loading CSV files in SIGTAS requires the data to be separated by a comma and to respect the encoded UTF-8-dom format. This format is important because it ensures compatibility between data from SIGTAS and the CSV file. Failure to comply with this format will result in hardware incompatibility and failure to download the requested data. In this case, SIGTAS will inform the user of the incompatibility. Once the data is loaded, SIGTAS validates the content, assigns an upload number and displays the result on the related page and module.

The following example explains how to load a CSV file into SIGTAS via the Import Data page (509:89000) of the Administration module. This procedure is standardized and also applies to all uploads of CSV files in SIGTAS.

1. Go to the Administration module;
2. Choose the Base Tables option;
3. Select the Migration option;
4. Click the Import data menu. This action opens the Import Data page (509:8900);
5. Go to Select file and load in Sigtas;
6. Choose the Type of data source;
7. Click the Choose File button and select the CSV file to download from your desktop. This action displays the name of the CSV file to be downloaded;
8. Click the Start Loading button. This action loads the data from the CSV file. Once the loading is confirmed, SIGTAS validates the contents, assigns a loading number and refreshes the page Import data (508: 8900);
9. Go to Loading History;
10. Find the load that is the subject of the request;
11. Click on the line of the loading to be displayed (the line becomes grayed out). This action displays the load detail in the lower section;

When loading has been successful, SIGTAS displays Yes in the Success column. If not, SIGTAS displays No and indicates the reason for the rejection in the Reason for rejection column.

12. Go to section Errors;
13. Look for the error to display.
